1. Data controller
Filvia is a project of Print and Pixel Lab, Via Eugenio Bertini 92, 47122 Forlì (FC), Italy. Print and Pixel Lab is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at hello@filvia.app.
2. Data we collect
This website collects personal data only when you join the waitlist or write to us. The Filvia app is covered in sections 3 and 12.
- Waitlist data: your email address, the date and time you joined, your approximate country (worked out from your connection at sign-up) and your browser's language setting.
- Technical data: when you visit the website, our hosting provider processes your IP address and basic browser information to deliver the pages and protect the site. We do not store your IP address with your waitlist entry.
- Bot check: when you join the waitlist, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you are a person. To do that it processes your IP address and technical information about your browser and device.
- Messages: if you write to us, we receive your email address and what you write.
Giving us your email is optional. Without it we can't add you to the waitlist.
3. Beta version: technical report
If you use the beta version of Filvia, the app keeps a technical log on your PC to help find and fix problems. The log contains technical data only: app errors and crashes with the place in Filvia’s code where they happen, how long each step takes, the name of the AI service and model used, the Filvia and Windows versions, the class of processor, memory and graphics card (for example “intel core i7”, “16 GB”, not the exact model) and the app’s language. The log never contains what you type or say, the AI’s replies, the names or contents of your files, paths with your user name, your access keys or Filvia’s memory. Before anything is saved in the log, Filvia automatically removes user and PC names, paths, file names, email addresses, keys and any text that looks like content. The log takes up at most 5 MB and the oldest data is deleted automatically. You can delete it at any time in Settings > Beta.
The log never leaves your PC on its own. Filvia does not send it to us or to anyone else. If you want to help, you can use “Export beta report” in Settings > Beta: you first see the exact text of the file, then Filvia saves it to your Desktop as a single .json file, and you decide whether and how to send it to us. When you send it, we receive that file together with your email address (or the channel you write from). The data controller is Print and Pixel Lab. We use the report only to find and fix errors in Filvia, on the basis of your voluntary participation in the beta programme (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We keep the reports we receive until 12 months after the beta ends and then delete them; you can ask us to delete yours earlier by writing to hello@filvia.app. We do not sell reports or use them for advertising. All the rights described below apply.
When the beta starts, Filvia shows a notice explaining all of this; it must be accepted to continue with the beta, and you can read it again at any time in Settings > Beta.
4. Why we use it
- To email you when Filvia is ready (waitlist email).
- To decide which languages and countries to prepare first (country and browser language).
- To keep the website and the waitlist secure and free of bots and abuse.
- To find and fix errors in Filvia, using the beta reports you choose to send us.
- To answer your messages.
- To comply with legal obligations.
5. Legal basis
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): for the waitlist email. By joining you agree that we may email you about Filvia's launch. You can withdraw your consent at any time; this doesn't affect what we did before.
- Taking part in the beta (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): for the beta reports you send us, which we need to run the beta programme you joined.
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): for the security of the website, the bot check, and for using country and language in aggregate to plan the launch.
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR): where the law requires us to keep or disclose data.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your waitlist entry until we send the launch email and for up to 12 months after that, and in any case no longer than 24 months from the day you joined, unless you ask us to delete it earlier. Technical logs kept by our hosting provider are kept for a short time for security purposes. Beta reports are kept until 12 months after the beta ends. Messages you send us are kept for as long as needed to answer you.
7. Who processes your data
We don't sell or hand over your data to anyone. We use these services, which process data on our behalf:
- Cloudflare, Inc. — website hosting, waitlist storage, email routing and the Turnstile bot check. For Turnstile, Cloudflare also uses some signals as an independent controller to improve its bot detection (see Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum and Privacy Policy).
Emails you send to our address are received through Cloudflare Email Routing and delivered to our mailbox. If we use a separate service to send the launch email, we will name it here before that email is sent.
8. Transfers outside the EU
Cloudflare may process data in the United States and other countries outside the European Union. Cloudflare is certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its data processing terms include the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
9. Cookies
This website doesn't use cookies for advertising or analytics, and it doesn't show ads. The Turnstile bot check may store technical information in your browser only to tell people and bots apart, which is needed for the sign-up you asked for. The fonts are served from our own website.
10. Your rights (GDPR)
Under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 you have the right to:
- Access — know what data we hold about you;
- Rectification — correct inaccurate data;
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data;
- Restriction — limit how we use it in certain cases;
- Portability — receive your data in a common, machine-readable format;
- Objection — object to processing based on our legitimate interest;
- Withdraw consent — at any time, for example by asking to leave the waitlist.
To exercise these rights, write to hello@filvia.app. We'll reply within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, or with the authority in the country where you live.
We make no automated decisions or profiles about you.
11. Young people
Filvia is made for everyone, including teenagers. If you are below the age at which you can consent on your own in your country (14 in Italy), please join the waitlist only with the permission of a parent or guardian. If you are a parent and think your child gave us data without your permission, write to us and we'll delete it. Buying Pro will require an adult.
12. The Filvia app
- Your AI keys are stored encrypted on your PC. They are never sent to Filvia's servers.
- Filvia doesn't upload your files to our servers. When a job needs the AI, the parts of your files the job needs are sent directly from your PC to the AI provider you chose (for example Anthropic, OpenAI or Google), with your own key and under that provider's terms and privacy policy. With a local model, everything stays on your PC.
- Filvia never sees your passwords: its built-in vault fills them in. The vault is stored encrypted on your PC and needs no account.
- Some Pro features, such as Filvia Link, connect your phone to your PC. Before those features are available we will describe here exactly what passes through that connection.
13. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or disclosure. The website uses an encrypted HTTPS connection.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example at launch. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of this page. If we change how we use your waitlist email, we'll tell you first.
